The Daily Lab: Active Directory

A Picture is worth 1000 words; These Labs are meant to show you what I have LEARNED, not waste your time. Here you will find concise documentation of the Active Directory Lab

Microsoft: Active Directory

In this lab I designed a small virtualized network with a domain controller and a client machine via a diagram, built and configured the network, domain controller, and client computer to support the use of Active Directory Services. This included setting up Active directory, creating a domain and adding client machines to the domain, creating administrator accounts, and creating users and groups.

Here, I Created the _ADMINS Group Folder, and added my “A-Clayton Funicelli” Admin account to the folder. I ensured that I was a member of the proper group Domain Admins

This Section focused on setting up DHCP and creating a scope for what IP addresses would be automatically given an IP address. This also included ensuring the expiration of an IP address assignment so that one user logged on to a computer does not retain the same IP address indefinitely

Throughout the Lab I referred back to my diagram to ensure the direction of the project. Here I ensured I assigned the proper nic to the virtualized Windows 10 client machine while creating it. In this case, I ensured that the NIC was assigned to the internal network so that it would be automatically assigned a DHCP IP address by the domain controller
